The NFL (National Football League) has a ton of sponsorships with various companies around the United States. The sponsors the league partners with help take care of several of the expenses such as stadiums, executives pay, and officials pay.

A large part of the audience that tunes in to watching football every week is males, specifically males ages 18-40. Ford decided to partner with the NFL to provide the toughest trucks for the toughest players in football. The two parties signed a three-year partnership calling for more placements of the blue Ford logo around the stadiums and on television.

This is good for the Ford brand because there will be greater brand awareness to a large target market of potential buyers. The NFL is still one of the most popular channels to tune into, and big events like the Superbowl attract record attendance. Seeing that blue logo all around stadiums and hearing professional players talk about the new F-150 truck will likely increase sales.
