If you fancy a full-size SUV for your next daily driver, we here at Rountree-Moore Ford think you'll find a whole heck of a lot to like about ours, the 2017 Explorer.

"Such as what?" you wonder.

Allow our pals at MotorWeek to provide some context; their critique of the Explorer is as follows:

Arguably one of the more attractive offerings across the Explorer range, its mid-level engine -- a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder -- is straight-up superb.

Available on the Base and XLT models, the turbo-four couples with a six-speed automatic transmission to make a muscly 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive, meanwhile, is optional.

We'd note that it's especially fuel-efficient when had in front-drive form; so equipped, this engine is expected to achieve 22 mpg combined (19 city/28 highway).
