It’s difficult to make the Ford F-150 better than it already is, but after a refresh, it’s clear that Ford accomplished its goal. The new Ford F-150 still looks like the Ford icon, but it has a more refined look and more fuel-efficient powertrain options. Ford continues to lead the way in the full-size pickup truck battle, and the refreshed F-150 will keep the popular truck at the top.

What’s Powering the F-150

For 2024, Ford customers have several engine choices. The Ford F 150 performance features begin with the standard twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6. This base engine delivers 325 horsepower.

Drivers can also choose a 5.0-liter V8 with 400 horsepower, a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, and a hybrid twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 paired with a single electric motor. The hybrid EcoBoost V6 engine delivers 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. High-end trims like the King Ranch come with performance features like variable-assist steering. All models have a ten-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive with available four-wheel drive.

Drivers can also choose the Tremor and Raptor models with exceptional power and off-road performance. The Tremor comes with 33-inch all-terrain tires, an off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, and the Raptor transfer case.

The Raptor brings even more power with its supercharged V8 engine, 37-inch tires, modified bumpers, an available light bar, low-speed Trail Control, and a Terrain Management System with seven drive modes.

High-Tech Features in the Award-Winning Pickup Truck

The Ford performance features aren’t the only impressive tech features. The 2024 Ford F 150 features upgraded safety technology and useful tech for working outside of the home.

The newest feature is the Pro Power Onboard technology that turns the F-150 into a household or workplace generator. Models equipped with the PowerBoost engine will have a standard 2.4-kW generation with up to 85 hours of runtime with a full tank of gas. Ford will also equip the F-150 with an option 2.0-kW or 7.2-kW inverter to power everything from small appliances to mobile welding equipment.

Drivers will appreciate the new Pro Access Tailgate which adds a swinging vertical door to the tailgate. This feature offers easy access to items in the truck bed. The F-150 also has new driver-assist features like upgraded Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping System, and Blind-Spot Information with Cross-Traffic Alert.

For better trailering, drivers can add Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. Smart features include Stolen Vehicle Services and Ford BlueCruise for semi-autonomous highway driving.
